I am looking to start upgrading my build. Its about 2 years old right now. All I do is game (CSGO and LoL) and watch movies. My 780 TI is currently getting switched RMA'd because it cannot run any game that uses Direct X 11. I am running 1 monitor. The XL2420T 120hz, I have noticed some ghosting with this recently, would maybe a 144hz monitor be better?

Any suggestions would be awesome!

I wouldn't upgrade the monitor or the video card,  When you get the 780ti back it should be more than enough for the games you play and the monitor should be fine, going to 144Hz may very well improve nothing.

Can you elaborate on why you want to upgrade?  Some of the issues you listed will go a way when you get a new GPU back.

I figured my RAM was something I could upgrade along with some cooling. I touched the side of my case recently and that thing was warm all over. It never use to be like that, although..I'm not seeing any crazy temps with my CPU or GPU.

For clarity can you list what you currently have in your system?   you really only need 8G of ram.

I listed my RAM in my original post. Would something higher than DDR3 1600 be noticeably different?

Nah, I doubt you'll notice.
