Serious question about my gtx 780.

Thelillypad123

Do you think anyone out there is in the market to buy a MSI gtx 780 lightning edition for around $220 usd, not looking to sell, just seeing people's insight.

Hell yeah what memory is on it?

To clarify, you asking for memory clock or memory, because it is 3gb memory. Haha

No memory type, Hynix/Samsung/Eplida? Depending on what brand it is will help you get more or less money for sure.

If I saw that deal I would buy it instantly.

If you wanted to, you could probably sell it for more tho.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

I have no idea. How would you even find that sort of thing out?

Yeah I figured. It's a pretty damn good 780 at that. Never even overclocked it past the stock overclock. Thing is a beast but I'm thinking about going to a 970 for dx12 support.

Wouldn't know. Never overclocked the thing, but the card is notorious for being the most overclockable.

If you can get 2000MHz on the memory 8000 Effective you can easily get 300-320$ out of it. As they are rarer then rare to find.

I sold my GTX 780 reference cooler, with slight damage, for $280 just a month or so ago. I feel like $220 USD is fairly low for a Lightning card.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

well dang. If I can get anything near $300 it would definitely be worth my time to sell this thing.

so, lets say I was to sell it. What steps would I/ Should I take in order to make sure that I am not selling someone a faulty graphics card??  (I have no reason to believe it is, just precaution)

I just let FurMark run for an extended period of time to make sure the card was stable. I made sure there was no damage on the card and, where there was in my case, I described it, pictured it, and explained how it happened. I mentioned how long I let the card run for and its purposes, which in my case was gaming for around 10 hours a week or less, with most of it's life being idle or powered off. I added comments on any overclocks I placed on the card, which was actually none. I obliged to any other questions people had over the card.

Okay sweet. Yeah mine is in freaking great shape then I ran Kombustor and Unigine Heaven on it for 30 mins and no problems.

I would try a much longer test, as if you're testing a pretty strong overclock... Maybe do a test overnight?

Not worth changing. And you will get dx12 performance benefits even if you don't get some little features (which btw we don't know when game devs will start using).

Problem is is I don't wanna have Kepler left behind. I'm already seeing a lot of signs that it will be and I don't wanna miss out on the awesome features.
