I have a macbook pro retina(mid 2012) that has a gtx 650m and i have isntalled windows for gaming. While gaming my gpu clock speeds will downclock when i have the charger plugged in and go to the default clock while on battery.

While plugged in and gaming:

gpu clock:225

memory clock:2508

While on battry and gaming:

gpu clock:900

Memory clcok:2508

Default clock:

gpu clock 900

Any way i can fix this?

Usually that is the other way around, the GPU will switch to the integrated GPU on the CPU while on battery and use the 650M while plugged in..

I know but that is what's happening.

Is there a way to lock my gpu clocks while gaming so it doesn't downclock?

Are you using windows to play games ?

If so you can try to get MSI afterburner and overclock it by 1 mhz and see it is stays their, sorry I need to read more on the topic...

again I can't find much, Maybe someone else needs to chime in..

Sorry....

EDIT

Do you know what temps you are getting ? It could be down clocking so that you don't overheat your computer...

Overclocking a low end card like that won't improve performance enough to justify it, so I'd leave it as is.

he's not overclocking, he's trying to figure out why his gpu is downclocking byitself

AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
