Best cheap gpu
Hello guys,
First of all I have to say, this is really nice community and very welcoming which is really nice to see
.
Recently I posted a topic about buying a new PC and now I come to idea to update graphics card on my old one to use it in my vacation house.
Basically I would use it for watching movies,tv shows and occasional gaming mainly for MMORPG games and LoL.
Mobo : Biostar TP45 HP
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E8400 (3.00GHz)
GPU: Zotac Nvidia 9800GT (512mb GDDR3 256-bit)
Ram: 4GB DDR2
So I want to upgrade this ancient old Nvidia card with SAPPHIRE R7 250 (1GB GDDR5 128-bit) and I was wondering will it be able to push LoL on high settings to like 50-60fps(1080p)?
All I want is to push low-mid settings in games with decent fps with LoL being exception I guess, so does upgrading this have any sense in it?
Will my mobo support this gpu and should I stick with r7 250 or go with gt 720,730?
Do you have a specific budget in mind? If it is only around $100 then that's what you're working with, but if you're willing to go up to $150, the 750Ti is an absolutely great card. It was designed to take older, less 'gaming' oriented computers and turn them into something that can play all games at 1080.
I honestly have no idea what your PSU or Mobo can or cannot support, because when it was released, these graphics cards weren't.
IMO i would suggest an upgrade in the near future. The Core series is getting quite old and if you don't have a Core 2 Quad, then it is probably performing sub-optimally.
Also, the older PCI-E generation means you won't be getting the full potential out of your graphics card. There is also some worry that there will be bottlenecking from your CPU.
If I were you, I'd see if you could save up a couple hundred more dollars over the next year or two and then buy something that you can really game with!
But if you're strict on budget, quote me and either myself or another forum member will help ya out!
Cheers!
