I thought "burned in images" were no longer a phenomenon since the invention of LCD.

Do you think we will ever have screens that won't be able to get burned in images and or image persistence?

Doesnt really happen any more. Maybe if you stil have a Plasma screen, but LCD/LED doesnt burn in soooo yeah.

We have them already with LCD. It is possible (though VERY rare) to get image retention issues on an LCD but even these are not permanent (typically they fade after 20-30 minutes) unless the pixels are stuck, but that's not the same as burn-in.

Unfortunately OLEDs do suffer from burn-in again, but hopefully this will be resolved as more durable OLED materials are researched.
