Hi, I have a server with seedhost.eu that is giving me some bandwidth issues.

Here are the details

Locations

Server = Netherlands 100mbit/100mbit (i can only assume fibre since its in a data centre)

Me = Australia 100mbit/40mbit (fibre) (Business connection)

Using speedtest.net both myself and the server hit their rated speeds using servers in their own country. I also know for a fact that my ISP (IINET) doesn't restrict any type of connection or type of traffic.

The issue lies when the server in the netherlands makes a connection to Australia or vise versa. When I do a speedtest from home to the Netherlands its about 2mbit down 2mbit up and the Netherlands to Australia i get the same result!

Is there anything i can do to make the link faster? ping im not concerned about (speedtest showed 320ms average) but i want to make the the uplink on the Netherlands as fast as possible, as all the data will be going from the Netherlands to my home.

note: I have tried direct peer to peer connections using FTP, SFTP, BTsync and syncthing, all give the same speed. I also downloaded a test file from seedhost.eu and got the same speed from them (FTP file) The data i'm transferring would total to over 20Gb/day and they cannot be stored by a 3rd party. any suggestions? Netherlands Server is running Server2012r2 and my home is windows home server 2011 and another pc running win7 (all pc's/servers are 64bit)

Well..Australia is known for the crappy ISP they provide.

I was just poking fun.

Maybe the link is hitting quite a bit of lag due to forced traffic, or high bandwidth of traffic to the server. basically known as a DoS.

I doubt it, This has been doing it for over a month, but i have used various speedtest, and all the ones to the netherlands (regardless which one) are all slow, where as all the ones at home are fast.
