MyGica has older analogue support on some of their models and I believe Pivos may too.

Um I can't plug a USB in to a chrome cast tho..

So what kind of ports does that TV have?

Technically you CAN plug usb into a chromecast though ;) It has a micro-usb port on the back for power  ;)

So many things I could write here... things like this.

Not sure tbh

Most if not all TV's have these ports:

RCA-Stereo-Audio-Composite-Video-ports1. Analog video ports (not digital)

S-video: 

S-Video-port1.jpg Analog Svideo (not digital)

VGA: 

220px-SVGA_port.jpgAnalog, not digital

HDMI: 

dZ4orPg.png or MINI-HDMI.jpgMini-HDMI (digital)

Then there's coaxial and what not, but don't worry about that.

 

If there's HDMI, you're set.

You can just plug in a chromecast in one of the above ports and if it's mini-hdmi you can just buy a 2 pound adapter cable for it, then run the chromecast's power from a USB port :)

Is there something I could buy for my girlfriends TV that allows her TV to watch movies from a USB?

It's a kind of old TV so I don't think it supports it out of the box.

Some blu-ray players support it.
