Why is it R7 instead of R9. Seems like this isnt a rebrand because if it was it would be a r9 280 which is a 7950. Or they are using the R9 270 GPU which i hope not

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

It is supposedly a Pitcarin Pro / Curaco Pro chip, So that would make it the 7870/R9 270, So if this is true at all, Being branded as a R7 would mean more bang for buck, But yeah it would be better bang for buck if the 280/7950 was re-badged as a R7. I just hope AMD has something else up their sleeve than more re-brands. Because if they don't this could mean even worse debt for AMD, And it would be bad for all gamers. If they do re-badge, They need to offer much more than just a step up from last gen, Meaning the R9 280's chip should replace the R7 265, And the R9 285's Chip should replace the R9 270, And the 280X's chip should replace the R9 270X, And the R9 290's chip should replace the R9 280's spot and so forth. Otherwise if they go again with the Pitcarin/Curaco as their mid range they will be making a huge mistake. The Pitcarin/Curaco R7 265/R9 270 chips should replace the R7 260's. But even that could fail, Since I know little about marketing. Good Luck AMD!

CPU: Intel i5 3470@3.8ghz, Motherboard: Biostar TZ77A, Ram: 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600, GPU: EVGA SC GTX 970 ACX 2.0 , PSU: Corsair CX600, Case: Antec 300, OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64

So they will just make the r7 370 cheaper than the r9 270 was?
