I'm building a computer in about two weeks and I recently finalized all my part choices. When I purchase then I'll be spending about $1600, but I intend to get everything else I need by Christmas time. In total, when I'm finished, the build will cost around $2500.

To Buy in 2 Weeks:

Case: Corsair 350D - $110

PSU: Corsair TX850M - $120

Motherboard: Asus TUF Series Gryphon - $170

CPU: i7 4770K - $350

RAM: 8GB(2x4GB) Vengeance Pro - $78

SSD: Samsung 840 Series 250GB - $175

DVD Burner: Asus Something - $20

GPU: GTX 770 4GB - $460

OS: Windows 8 - $100

To Buy by Christmas:

Fans:

  3 x Corsair AF120 - $57(All 3)

  2 x Corsair SP120 - $28(Both)

CPU Cooler: H100i - $110

HDD: Caviar Black 1TB - $100

Another GPU $460

Any suggestions on a good mouse for less that $75 and a good MX Brown keyboard for less than $150(I know the K70s come out soon). Just curious for any input on my build(even though I probably want change anything).

Thanks, Worth

Edit: Forgot HDD

Psu is overkill. A 750w will be enough for a 780 sli and plenty for a 770 sli.

I know, but if its complete overkill I feel that I'll never run out. So I'm not changing it.

DON'T USE WINDOWS 8 for the love of God.

Runs faster, takes up less RAM space, and has future direct-x support. I can adjust to the annoyance.

The case already comes with those exact fans minus the rings and rubber mounts I believe. What are the static pressure fans for? I'm not a peripheral guy so someone else can fill you in on that.

SP 120s are for the H100i. I know they are the same, but I want the rings and rubber grommets.

Why two different type of fans? Just curious.

SP120s all around would do the trick, would they not?

Desktop: Intel i5-3570K (stock) | Asus Sabertooth Z77 | G.Skill RipJaw 16GB 1600MHz | Samsung 840 120GB | EVGA GTX 680 SC+ 2GB | Fractal Design R4 | Windows 8 Pro (soon to have dual boot Mac OS X)

Retina Macbook Pro : Intel i7-3840QM | 16GB 1600 MHz | 256GB SSD | Nvidia GT 650M 1GB | Mac OS X 10.8.5

AF120s are more optimized for airflow. SP120s are more optimized for static pressure(good for pulling stuff through radiators for instance).

I'been using Windows 8 for the past 9 months and I love it.  I haven't been in a metro app in at least 6 months.  I'm loving my boot times.

I've been using Win8 for the last 2 months and haven't touched the Metro App at all except for the Weather app (which I actually use and like). Love it. Classic Shell FTW.

Your build looks good. The only things I would personally change are these:

Bump down to the 4670k as I wouldn't use HT at all.
Change the RAM to 2x8GB sticks for future upgrading to 32GB.
I wouldn't bother buying the fans unless you want the colors or rubber dampeners.

And I would leave the rest. Great gaming build overall regardless.

Where is your Storage (HDD)?

I have no idea on the peripherals.

For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.

Derp, I forgot to put down the hard drive, 1TB Caviar Black by the way.

Also, I want the i7 given that I do use a lot of Unreal Engine and building lighting is greatly effected by hyper threading.

Just get the seagate barracuda. You already have an ssd and the barracuda isn't that far behind in performance compared to the decent price gap.

If that case has fan filters then i would go with the SPs all around instead of the AFs..The AF fans have a tough time even with fan filters..I tested this on my Storm Stryker as the AFs barely did anything when trying to push or pull through a filter..Check out this guide it might help..

Great plans. I would go for a 770 2GB personally except if you plan to play on more than a 2560x1440 display. Get some better PSU, you have all top of the line parts with an entry level PSU. An HX series should suit the caliber of the build. Or you could get the Gryphon armor kit for your motherboard?

Case: 650D CPU: i5 4670K GPU: GTX 770 Gaming @1306MHz Motherboard: MAXIMUS VI Hero PSU: AX760 CPU Cooler: H100i RAM: 8GB Vengeance Pro @1866MHz Storage: 840 250GB SSD / 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.14

At the moment, the Gryphon armor kit comes with the mobo as a promotion. I do plan to get a 1440p display. What's wrong with the PSU?

TX series. It's got cable management but there is still a big amount of clutter that you're gonna have to hide somewhere in that 350D

What about dropping my SSD from 250 to 120 and getting a AX760 PSU?

I would swap down to the 760 PSU.

A system like this with SLI 770's would use about 650w of power. 850w is good, but 760w would be fine too. Better cable management is a plus.

As for the SSD, only do that if you need the money for something else. 120GB is plenty for OS+(4-5) games.

I agree with WoodenMarker about the Seagate Barracuda.

Thanks, I may get another 120GB or 250GB SSD later for only games.

So do I and I'm getting the MSI Gaming 770 2GB OC. (I have a PB278Q) and according to reviews it only really makes a noticeable difference when you get to resolutions like 5760x1080.
