Hey, I've had this PC for a couple years now and have done some little Overclocking since then, but nothing too major. I recently Acquired a Swifttech H220-X to cool my AMD FX 6100 that I plan on upgrading later. But I do have a few questions that I am still Kind of Confused About.

1. What CPU Temperature monitor to trust?- I have always used Coretemp but others have been saying it is not accurate, because my HWinfo and coretemp say two different temps, by like 15*C

2.What is the max temperature my processor should reach under a prime 95 Load?

Right now i am clocked at 4.2ghz 1.325v and the temperature coretemp said i reached was 35* while HWinfo said i reached 47*

Thanks for the help!

I use AMD overdrive to monitor my 8350. You can over-clock from there to and i;ve got the same OC as i did from my bios, most people will suggest doing it manually in the BIOS i tend to agree.

MAx temp on AMD page is 70C so i would aim for low 60's

About 65°c is where I'd aim for but remember stress tests create artificial load so you can aim for mid 70s when stressing and that will keep you in the zone while gaming. Above 80 when stressing and your too hot.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Use AMD Overdrive to monitor your temps. Other software doesn't work all that great with AMD boards for some reason. Your temperatures while stress testing should not exceed 65C. That is your absolute maximum CPU temp. Anything above that will degrade that chip's life a lot and will cause instability in the long run.
