So i am getting my first build in the next few weeks or so, however, i saw that the GTX 980TI recently came out and i have been told to get it by multiple people.  This was the build i was going to get http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/fNNCP6(i know i can add a few things here and there, but its generally what i was getting).  And here is the new build http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/mdCYYJ (and yes i know i dont need the i7 right now, but either way, for the 100$ more, i may as well get it now than later).

My question is, is the more high end build worth that wait.  Yes i know its my decision, but i really dont know.  Is the performance that much better than the other one that if i wait an extra 2 months (at least) it would be worth it? i would like to hear some advise from others with experience.

Also, this is my first build so think of it as if you were me with a bad computer right now that cant run anything.

Just upgrade the 660 in that one build and it'll be the best of both.

Change to like a 970 or something IDK. Depending what you're doing there probably won't be a need to go with an i7 etc.

I have that keyboard btw.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

what if for now i just the second build but with a different monitor and the GPU?  i just thought of this and it would help a ton with the price and how long i get it from now.  As well as, the computer i have right now, cant play games.  would that be an okay solution for now?

Getting the second build and replacing the gpu later will be fine. Get a 960 not a 660 or two 660s from ebay. I got 2 660s for 170 USD total

I can give a review summary I guess.

It's P good over all. I wish it was backlit but that's about my only complaint. I like the MX black switches, they're nice. Built in wrist rest is also nice. I use that little 6 key add on key pad SO MUCH. I bound it to my media player pause/next/previous. Overall the quality is quite good.

motherboard is not compatible with that CPU. I also wouldn't bother a custom loop as you seem (somewhat?) new?

I'd buy like a H240x or something if you really want a water cooler (h240x can be expanded later too!)

I also would not get 2 660s because it's getting to be an older architecture now and support for it will end soon.

Would personally go something along the lines of 4690k/GTX 970/16GB RAM

just noticed that, thanks.  Now let me answer 4 comments in point form in the last post.  1. yes im new, this is my first build.  2. im fully aware a custom loop is not necessary and maybe not worth the pain, but im still planning on getting it.  3.  Though about getting the H240x but decided i prefer the custom loop.  4.  Its not two 660's, it was just one but the thing under it is just so it added the price to the total.

Custom loop is a bad idea for a first build. Just don't. I wanted one on my first build too. Just adds to the cost and hassle.

its a great build, but considering i plan on upgrading the build in the near future anyway, i might stick around this, but i do like the little fixes you made compared to this one, im maybe considering the change to a i5-4690k for now.  Also, that mouse you added really looks nice, if you dont mind answering, how does the laser on it work compared to a razor mouse?

okay, i will think about the no custom loop thing you said, not trying to sound like a idiot or a... mean person (can use bad language on this site) but lets say i dont do a custom loop, which i now an considering... i guess you would advise a AIO CPU cooler for the CPU and another AIO cooler with a G10 kraken bracket for the GPU?

Its not worth it. Just air cool the gpu and use an h100i gtx for the cpu. The laser mouse is really nice. i see faster response times and more accuracy compared to optical. I see it. I personally use a corsair k70 and sbare rgb. Get the k70. You will love it forever. Best 130$ i have ever spent.

don't necessarily need to watercool a GPU.

could if you really wanted to.

Most of the higher end Corsair ones (h100i/h110i/h80i/h80/etc) are p good. As are the NZXT and swiftech ones. And the cooler master ones. A lot of the AIOs are OEMed from Asetek or something anyways. So a lot of them are p similar.

It depends on the specific sensor but I personally think the sensor in the Logitech G502 is the best sensor ever made.

I also hate corsair keyboards.

My reasons are mainly to do with the build quality and price.

Stock keycaps are crappy ABS and the bottom row is non standard so you can't change aforementioned crappy keycaps. For what it is I think it's overpriced.

i absolutely prefer to liquid cool my GPU, one of the reasons i wanted to water cool.  but if you really think a custom loop is bad on a first build (which surprisingly alot of people say) then i might get the G10 with a AIO cooler.
