Xeon E3 1231 V3

I was looking at this CPU and compared it to the core i7 4790 (which is $40 more) and the Xeon seems to be a better for bang for my buck.

The only difference I can see between these two CPU's is that the Xeon has a slower core clock and a slower turbo by 200 mHz.

I plan on gaming and looking into doing some video editing and maybe getting into streaming.

I play/plan on playing and maybe stream games like, Battlefield, Total War Attila, Fallout 4, World of Tanks, etc.

So I was wondering if the Xeon is a good choice?

Xeon has no iGPU and doesn't overclock, if you don't plan to overclock Xeon is good.

Yeah I plan on buying a gtx 900 series gpu and if this CPU can perform I won't need to buy an overclock-able one and spend it on the GPU

Yep, Xeon can handle any current gpu just fine.
