Explain this Windows 10 upgrading

So legit users will get windows 10 for 1 year or life-time? And what about pirated windows? 1 year free? This is confusing..

 

And should you even upgrade now? Its still not the full version is it?

It is the full version of it, and even the cracked users get it for free. I have no idea why they are doing it. Maybe they think it's going to be shit and won't make any profit anyway.

i thoug it was life-time cause my dad said to me it a life-time version

Wrong, Rex... pirates get it for free, but it wont be a legit version and after the one free year they will need to purchase it :)

You are misinformed, as are many people out there, and those people are the reason of all the confusion.

 

You have a year to upgrade to windows 10. What the price of the upgrade after that year will be is unknown I think. The version you have when you upgrade is the same as you have now, and will be a lifetime-key as before.

To clarify posts here, and correct some people:

If you have a pirated version, you can upgrade to Windows 10, in the sense that you'll have the option. But Windows will remain non-genuine, and fall under newer protection system of Windows 10 again piracy.

Windows 10 has a a limited promotion, where you can upgrade to it (Windows 7, and Windows 8.x users) for free. The promotion starts July 29th 2015, and ends July 29th 2016. After that date, you need to go out and purchase Windows 10 if you didn't upgrade since, like all previous version of Windows when a new one comes out. Te free upgrade of Windows 10 that you get is NOT a trial of some kind, you have it free all the time, like if you went out and bought the upgrade edition of Windows 10.

It is unclear, due to lack of details, on how re-install will work for those that upgrade to Windows 10. So far, only assumption and guesses is given. All we know, is that there will be a way, but that is all we know.
