So, I have been saving my money for a LONG time now so I can get a decent computer for gaming

Here are all the parts:

Asus Maximus Vi hero

Intel core i5 4670k

Gigabyte gyx 770 4gb edition

Corsair vengeance low profile 8gb 1600mhz

Corsair h100i extreme cooler

Corsair Hx 750w gold power supply

Samsung 840 120gb ssd

Wd 1tb black

Arc midi r2

Windows 8

Total on amazon: $1500 USA (thats the cheapest place, cheaper theN ncix and newegg plus I have prime, sorry ncix )

By the way this system is for gaming on like crysis 3 and stuff like that. But also for a bit of light editing.

So are there any problems? Is it worth it to get the 770 4gb version or save $50 and get 2gb. Is the 750w enough to power this whole thing and later on can i get another 770? Any thing you think you can improve for the same price? Any compatibility issues?

Thanks a ton guys, this will be my first computer i build my self, but i 95% sure i know what i am doing. The other 5 is why i am posting this.

Sorry for the repost :(

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.

No compatibility issues and your system should pull less than 500 watts so your PSU should be fine

I am good at computer

Yeah, I know 7 is liked more in the community. But 8 is the newest and will be getting updates and stuff. Plus I am one of the VERY VERY few it seems like that doesn't hate modern ui to death :P

Windows 8 is amazing, people who don't like it are just people who don't understand it and/or can't manipulate it well, this is just like Vista.

What resolution are you gaming at? I doubt you need the 4GB version of the card.

You can drop down the PSU even if you planned to SLI your cards 700w is enough, but 750 is perfect for headroom if you plan to SLI.

Looks ok though!

Oh how very "decent"

If you do some editing an 8350 might be better for ya. Psu will be fine. The 4 GB is mainly for multiple monitors, if you mod skyrim to the very extremes it might be useful on single monitor. But unless you have more thhan a single 1080p screen I'd say save some money and take the 2GB - Although some might argue that 4 GB is more futureproof.

Looks decent though.

Only thought i really have is I'm pretty sure you'd be able to squeeze an 780 in there with some changes.

Stuff I have I like: Moto G - Superlux HD681 Evo - Monoprice 9927

90% of what I say is sarcasm.

Interesting.... And how do you think i can squeeze a 780 into $1500 without other components SERIOUSLY holding back the 780.

I mean it's possible but just please tell me how?

Spend less on the PSU, and the Mobo. It'll probably still be slightly over $1500 but you won't need anything more than 550-600 watts. The mobo is overkill to be honest. A MSI GD65 or Gigabyte UD3H or even the D3H are still very good boards.

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

The reason why i went with this mobo and power supply is that i can really upgrade this later on. Like add a sound card, another 770, more ssd and hdds, stuff like that needs a good psu and mobo. But i really appreciate the help, and i will think it over and might just do what you said. :)

Total: $1491.25

All from Amazon, as you wished.

8320 is bascally an underclocked 8350, you can still overclock it to at least 4.5 Ghz, the extra upgradeability Isn't needed when you got such a beast as 780.
NH D14 Is epic, if you dislike the colour scheme you can fit a Silver arrow in there I think.

Wooow, you must have put a lot of time into that. But the 8320 isnt as good in gaming as 4670k, sure better in editing but i will only be doing i tiny bit of that so i wouldnt wanna sacrafice any gaming performance for something i will do only a tiny bit of. Plus the psu doesnt allow for many upgrades such as sli, a soundcard, more ssd, more hdds. The mobo i went with has very good on board audio to suffice until o get a sound card and all the stuff mentioned before. Plus its a Rog mobo which means a few extra software things to help. The memory is 1333, not 1600. Which i was gonna overclock to 1833, so yeah. The h100i is a much better cooler. Even the hard drive is less reliable, popular, and performs less. The mobo you mentioned has bad on bourd audio, less sata 3. And overclocks worse, because the components used on the hero are much better.

Sorry to waste all that time you put into finding these parts. But i think i am gonna keep my current setup, maybe if i can get more money i will get the 780.

Np finding them, I think it's fun xD

Neither the 8320 or 4670k is gonna bottleneck a 780 except in cpu dependent games like planetside 2, and overclocking the 8320 to 4.5-5 GHz, it won't bottleneck the 780 at all. The difference between H100I and NH-D14 is about 5C apart, which isn't that much considering the extra noise and price etc from the H100i. Memory doesn't matter mutch, 1600 memory will only be 5 bucks more, and you shouldnt bother overclocking it over 1600, the dfference is really unnoticable. Barracuda is just fine for your needs, it's a fine drive - Again, for 20 to 30 bucks you can probably get a Black.

Difference between the Mobos are small, the sound is admittedly better on Hero but you're gonna buy a sound card anyways, 7 Sata III is enough anyways.

With 650 W you can power A 4.7 Ghz 8320, A 780, 2 High Perf HDD and 2 SSD, a Sound card, 4 Ram sticks, a bunch (8 High rpm approx) of fans, the Mobo, and still have about 100W left (Although i would never recommend going below 50 W left)

If you think you're gonna get an extra 780 on top of that, add 150-200 W

Stuff I have I like: Moto G - Superlux HD681 Evo - Monoprice 9927

But you see, i do quite a bit of cpu related tasks. So the bottoenecking is going to be a problem. Plus i like intel more because i have had a lot of bad exprience with amd. And none with intel. You know what, if i get the money i will keep my current setup AND get a 780. I might just sell a few things that i wont miss. :P

That make you feel better?

But yes you win...... the challenge that is to fit a 780 into $1500. :)

As Said, when you OC with a good cooler the 8320 Will end up being better then 4670K.

But it's your build nonetheless.
