Overclocking my FX6300

Go to solution Solved by ApolloX75,

I have a FX6300 black and my motherboard dose not have any thing for me to over clock me pc so I use overdrive. I was doing some bench marks on cinebench But found something weird.

The higher the over clock the lower the scores. (I do not know much about overclocking) I first set the turbo core to 20.5 and the did that to the CPU core multiplier it made it slower. (when cinebench was done all the cores turbo and when it was bench marking only 1 or 2 cores was being turbo as you can see in the photo. What am I doing wrong.

Your M5A78L-M is a... huge disadvantage to put it politely. 4+1 VRM setup with no cooling is a huge issue with the additional issue of it being a limited 760G chipset,

You really need to be overclocking from in the BIOS to get it set correctly and even if you did there's no guarantee the board's power delivery (the weak 4+1 VRM setup) won't buckle as soon as you stress it. Which it seems to be doing already.

That would be your best bet. I'd say hold off and save up for at least a 4690K.
