I have learned a ton more since posting this around a day ago and now have an update.

MY questions are now, is 550W a good amount of power to feed this set up? , Will the graphics card be able to run newer games at a medium to high graphics level?, Do I need to pick up an after market cooler or not?, Is my Mother Board over board for my set up?

Case- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

HDD- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

Power Supply (550W)- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

Ram(2x4gb=8gb)- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

Mother Board(works with my cpu)- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

CPU- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

or maybe this one(would require me to find a new mother board)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286

Graphics Card- www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx

or the -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121913

If you have any answers to my questions I would greatly appreciate it and if you have any suggestions I would appreciate those also.

Thanks,

          Brett C

Actually, OP. If you put this in PcPartPicker, it will tell you how much wattage it uses :P

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

Mine costs less and gives you the 4gb 960, a fast 120gb SSD, better case for 60 less, a Xeon processor. . works like a locked i7 with HT.. a cpu cooler to get the job done on that Xeon and a better Ram kit with boss heat sinks. and lastly a blue and black color scheme. . have fun gaming

You don't want to run a system like this on a mediocre/poor PSU like the EVGA 500W. Just because it is 500W and EVGA does not mean it is good quality.

What do you suggest?

As a minimum, XFX TS (made by Seasonic) perhaps, Antec HCG, any Seasonic or XFX really, or EVGA B2/GS/G2

Ah, sorry missed that. The NEX isn't great either if I'm honest, those suggestions would be better

How about the

SeaSonic G Series 550-Watt ATX12V/EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply SSR-550RM

A very good psu. You may also want to consider an M12II 520W or HCG 520W or 620W. I believe the HCG 620W is on sale at the moment.

See my sig re 80+ ratings.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

But then again I trust the one I have selected right now because another member recommended it and it has an 80 + Gold rating. it's also go pretty good reviews. But thanks for the help.

The seasonic is better. The NEX is made by FSP, its not bad but it is far from great. It suffers from high ripple

The HCG 620W looks like a good by with good ratings if you suggest I get it and not the seasonic then I'll pick up this one instead. Thanks

Both are built by Seasonic. Both are good. The G series would be a better choice. Choice really comes down to pricing and budget.
