Upgrade

Currently rocking an ACER 23 inch 1680x1050 widescreen that has been fatefull for many moons.  Looking to upgrade withen a 500 dollar budget and wanting to stay around 23 inch area......as I could just hook up a spare 42 inch 240hz tv I have in a spare bedroom for an upgrade but it's way to rediculas for me sitting only 3 feet away from a monitor.  Yes I tried it before I posted it.  Even the wife said how can you play a game like that!

Do you want a 120hz monitor,but with a TN panel or a 60-75hz,but with an IPS panel?

 

the 120hz monitor allows games to feel more fluid,but the IPS panel has much better viewing angles so the color never distorts.

Plus IPS panels have better colors to begin with :)

 

I'd go with the Acer HL236HLbid (glossy) or Dell U2312HM or ASUS PB238Q (matte).  Or the Dell U2412M or PA248Q if you like the 16:10 aspect ratio better.  Personally I do.
