Windows 8 "lite" Version for laptop?

Hey,

I have a laptop I use mostly for the web, mostly for youtube, and a bit other stuff like VLC and Notepadd++.

It has inside the intel core i5-3317u 1.70ghz - a dual core processor.

Recently it became really slow. It heats alot, and the experience sucks.

Ihave windows 10 on my PC, and I see that there is "Tablet mode" - a liter mode for the PC to run at, with I believe fiewer processes in the background.

Is there such a thing in windows 8? (Like a feature I can turn on/off and not install a new OS)

I believe it will be awesome because there are too many things going in the background and "process cleaning" is not my favorite practice...

Thanks in advance,

Amit
