Gaming, a little bit of youtube'ing but I will not be streaming with my .34Mbps up ._.

Then why not just get a OC'ed 6300? It's cheaper and should do.

There's a big difference in performance on 4670k/8350 vs 6300

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

You didn't get an aftermarket cooler. An oc'ed 6300 should do better than a stock 4670k/8350.

I'll most likely be getting an AIO cooler within a month which is why I have not included it in the pricing :p

Probably not, maybe for Intel smart cache'ing if I get a 4670k  but it's not really a priority.

The 4670k will also last years before it slows down, I was thinking that an 8350 would last longer due to the 8 cores and core optimisation but Linus clarified that for me last night on the after party and I'm more looking at Intel now.

Linus is not a game developer : http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/10522-game-developers-choose-amd-over-intel-for-gaming/?p=486738

An FX 8350/8320 will give you good performance now and fantastic performance later when you're going to need it the most, the 4670K will give you great performance now and good performance later.

Seeing as how the performance of the FX 8350 will only improve from here on out while the performance of the 4670K will remain mostly the same, I see no reason what so ever to pay the intel premium.

Actually quite the opposite. The Piledriver architecture is still very inefficient. With the fact it's still using 32 pipelines vs 12 of Intel makes random execution BAD with the lower IPC's to boot. Also factor in despite having 2 cores, it puts 2 cores on a module with only 1 floating integer per module. This makes it's power past 50% load VERY in-efficient. As Linus said in the last live stream it's probably about 6 cores with of power give or take, given that each core lacks the efficiency compared to Intel. So the FX-8350 won't see much better performance either. Is it a good value? It very much so is, but there's a reason why this 8 Core which is about 600MHz faster with MUCH more total cache trades blows evenly with the I5 rather than smoke it hands down. IPC's are still VERY important to gaming, but not as important as games like WoW important. AMD just keeps chucking cores, GHz and TDP at their designs rather than redesign a more efficient executing processor. It tells you something that Intel has made LITTLE focus on performance increases since Sandy Bridge as AMD is just now catching up in performance but with a flawed design.

Specs: Core I7-2600K @ 4.5GHz @ 1.35V, 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Black 1600MHz CL9, Cooler Master Evo 212, MSI Z77 Mpower Motherboard, Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X @ 1000/1400, Cooler Master HAF 932 Blue Edition w/ 3 Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 120MM fans (2 up top 1 in the bottom) replaced side panel with a window, and rear fan with a Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 140MM, Cooler Master GX 650 80+ Bronze PSU, Samsung DVD-RW, Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD, Seagate 750GB SATA III 7200RPM

You do realise that fx 8350 is same as 8320 but with higher base clocks? takes around 1 minute to boot 8320 and change clocks to the ones from 8350 and beyond.

Also you do realise fx 83xx is not 8 core processor ?

It is similiar situation like intel i7 with hyper threading on, only intel would be faster at single core performance.

Fx series has approx. 4 modules with 4x shared cache between 4 pairs of ALUs.Total of 8 ALUs.

I go go on but iItit doesn't make sense. Simply put take i7 with K if you want to overclock, and if you don't want to, take Xeon 1230v3 which is an i7 with locked multi at price of i5 K.

All other options won't 'last you years' because 8 core amd is simply slower than 4 core intel i7.

I5 is good enough for gaming right now but did you consider the future? We are going into years of multi threading and I don't want to g with less than 8 threads at which point amd is viable but not best.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU

What you said here and budget constraints, and balancing is why there's still a discussion about which cpu to get.
