I pick build 2, mainly because of the case. Now get the MSI card and replace it with the ASUS one to make it cheaper.

EDIT: The AMD one.

Asus has terrible warranty here so probably not :p

Well then I still vote the second build. I support AMD lol The intel one is good. What do you mainly do?

I am quite an AMD fan too but I'm mostly going to be gaming so idk...

Go the AMD, allows you to overclock and will be more future proof...could wait till the 9 series though (9970)...

If all your doing is gaming there will be a 1-2 fps difference depending on the game. So either one will work just fine

Doesn't really help, which would you go for?

Personally I would go for an AMD processor. More of a fan when it comes down to Intel vs Nvidia. But the other way around when it comes to GPU's.

8350 will last you years before it starts to slow you down.

I think right now the 4670k has the edge on the fx as games and programs only use 1 to 2 cores (max 4) unless your hardcore editing, but in the future they may start to use more cores and i think the fx will be able to be used properly and may be more future proof in that regard, also they overclock really well from what i have heard!

The 4670k will also last years before it slows down, I was thinking that an 8350 would last longer due to the 8 cores and core optimisation but Linus clarified that for me last night on the after party and I'm more looking at Intel now.

Linus confirmed last night that the core optimisations may make the 8350 faster but will in no regard make the 4670k noticeabley slower.

Unless your playing a random indie title made on a custom engine it will use all the cores of a FX8350. Unity, UR3, FB3, CE3, Havok, i'm sure I'm missing a bunch but all those game engines are up to date and use a modern cpu fully. Older titles might not be the strongest on the cpu but ones that don't take full advantage of the cpu you are getting over 60fps anyways so it doesn't matter if it it bottlenecking.

What's your reasoning? Personally I'm a really big AMD fan, always recommend it to people unless they have no budget but I'm just a little unsure of what to do for myself.

Unity is mostly a mobile platform plus all the pc games made on it have a min dual core recommended quad core.

So a mobile engine threaded for 1 core would perform pretty poorly.

It does come down to what you want. No real difference.

Well for the reasons a stated before that programs and games may use more cores in the future and this is when the FX8350 may shine, but im not saying the 4670k wont handle stuff in the future, but for i processor that's cheaper and may have an edge on a more expensive processor, would you rather want the cheaper one? Also if i am wrong they are quite similar in performance anyway...

I've programmed in Unity a few times made a few mini-games and it is definitively single core, there are ways to make it multi-threaded but even then it'll probably go 80% on one core and a small amount of usage on the rest.

The price difference is minimal in this case (the intel build is cheaper anyway), The 4670k puts the 8350 to shame in single core to be honest :/ and when it comes to multi-core they're pretty damn close in performance.

It depends what you're using the system for.
