Hello there I have recently acquired two powerline adaptors (Link below).I just wandered how i would set these up and I read somewhere that they do not work with extention cables is this true?

Btw the reason I want these is because i want to move my pc in to a under staired cupboard but I only have one place where my router can go and this is where my pc is currently the only issue is in the cupboard there is no plug socket and I thought that this would be more practical then running a ethernet cable from one side of the house to the other.

If an extension leads has surge protection then it wont work but otherwise its fine. I have a similar looking kit from TP Link and it was pretty much plug and play

Every meter cable you add lowers the performance of the powerline. But if the two sockets are close you can add some extention cables without worrying.

Some surge protection may filter the signals and can block your connection. However there are many different surge protections out there so you have to firgure it out with try and error.
