Hello,

Having a bit of an issue in regards to the get windows 10 app. I have a genuine copy of windows 7 sp1 , i'm connected to the internet, i'm not running an enterprise version of windows, automatic updates are enabled, and I'm fairly sure my PC meets the required specifications yet I am not getting the icon in my toolbar ( it specifies 16 gb of storage, does this mean currently free or that the computer has the capacity to store over 16 GB? )

Thanks,

- Tristan

Did you click the toolbar, arrow, and then customize? Then click the icon notification stuff?

Will come later I guess. There are still problems with some invites so just wait. Also I wont be upgrading, because I believe that upgrading isn't the correct way. So I am going to buy a copy and do a clean install on it.

I'm pretty sure they'll offer an ISO as long as you have the key which you can pull from your pc.

I think so too, I've no idea why he didn't get an invite though.

I had the same issue however I was able to find a solution.

1. Open notepad.

2. Paste this in:

reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Appraiser" /v UtcOnetimeSend /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /fschtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser":CompatCheckRunningschtasks /query /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" | findstr Ready >nulif NOT "%errorlevel%" == "0" ping localhost >nul &goto :CompatCheckRunningschtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Setup\gwx\refreshgwxconfig"

3. Save as whatever.bat

4. Run as administrator

5. Icon appears

I have tried forcing a windows update and still no, I tried your fix Kallezza and so far nothing ( do I need to restart after I run this for a while?) What's strange is there is another windows 7 pc in the house which has received it and a windows 8.1 pc that has also not received it O.o

I just did that and the icon appeared near the clock. Didn't need to restart or anything.

By the way, i was worried about upgrading as well, but a windows developer confirmed there's an option for a clean install, with the existing os being formatted.
