Duel ethernet ports.

Can I link duel ethernet cables to my motherboard or use my dongle with a ethernet cable to my motherboard to make my speed faster? If not why are there multiple Ethernet ports?

You can, but I kind of doubt your connection can even saturate one gigabit ethernet port.

 Unless you have a connection that can completely saturate the Ethernet port, there would be no benefit, even if you could do it. It can be used to connect to network storage and such.

There are two for using a NAS or giving internet to another computer.

Ahh, I got ya. Thanks guys, also one more thing. Why is it I pay for 20mbps when I only get 2mbps even if I don't have any other devices connected.

They can be used for redundancy, multiple internet connections, multiple network connections, etc. But for most cases... just use one.

20 mbps = 2MBps Notice the Big "b" and little "b".

 

Your internet speed is measured in BITS per second. But some programs, like steam and whatnot, will measure in BYTES per second. http://www.convertunits.com/from/megabit/to/megabyte

 

20 Mbps is roughly 2.5MBps max.

Do you mean mbps or MB/s? They're very different. If you get quoted 20mbps, your downloads will been shown in MB/s, which will be around 2MB/s

So you're paying for 160mbps, right? ISP's will quote their speeds in mbps. So 160mbps = 20MB/s. 

 

If so, do a speed test to see what your results are. If they're the same as what you're paying for, then there's a load of possibilities for why it's slower. Throttling, Wi-Fi quality and range(if you're using it), download servers are slow, there's a bottleneck somewhere in your network.

20 Megabits per second = 2 Megabytes per second
