Will a new motherboard conflict with my existing Win7 OS ?

Looking to upgrade my motherboard,

all other parts will still the same

(current specs are in the footer)

New motherboard: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130790

I understand the OS will be looking for a whole new set of drivers etc. so:

Will my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit start conflicting/not be genuine because of the hardware change?

As long as the chipset is the same, it'll most likely be fine.

No. I just upgraded with a new cpu and motherboard combo on different chipsets and used the same SSD with Windows 7 64-bit installed on it and had no problems at all. I just used the driver disk given with the motherboard and then Windows asked me to verify the CD key again. Also my friend did the same thing and he had no problems.

Read my post. I answered your question. Also my friend used the same Windows 7 key on fresh install to a new hard drive from an old and all he had to do was confirm the cd-key again.

Yes. that's good to hear.

I'm super paranoid about stuff not working / getting bricked (and NCIX always gives me shit about refunds) so im hoping others will also tell me the same - that it works.

Well I just did it and it worked. Not sure what else you want to hear. I just got an alert saying to confirm my cd -key and I did.

I rebuilt my computer only a week ago from AMD on a 970 chipset to Intel on an LGA1150 chipset. I chucked my drives in that I had been using for the past 3 months (120GB SSD for OS and 1TB HDD for storage) and it worked spot on. No issues or driver conflicts at all, I just deleted the old AMD drivers from my programs list.

Although, I hear other people HAVE to reinstall their OS, so your mileage may vary.

Back up your data, rebuild the computer and then put the drives in as they are. If it doesn't work, oh well, just format the drive(s) and reinstall the OS.

As a side note, if you have multiple drives (i.e. separate boot and storage drives), format the boot drive but leave the storage drive as it is. I hear it works with (essentially) new systems just fine.
