DX12 Combined Vram

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

It CAN be done, but your VRAM won't automatically stack in all games just because you download a DX12 driver or something. It will only work in very specific situations:

1. GPU supports DX12

2. Game supports DX12 (current and older games being upgraded is not going to be common)

3. Game developer has specifically programmed support for stacked VRAM into their game, and it will only work in that particular game.

But of course this requires that developers (gasp) put in extra effort for PC versions of their game. So... don't get your hopes up about how widely this will be adopted, and it's unlikely it will be retroactively implemented into any of the games you play right now.

Is it an official yes or no? And will it be with Dx 12 AND 12.1 or just 12.1 if is is true. Would love to get some more vram for gta5 thanks guys/

Its not going to happen any time soon

DX12 just means it can happen

the game and GPU drivers need to be made to support it too, and that will take a few years to be implemented

so basically forget about double vram for multi GPU configs for a while
