CS:GO Rank Placement

This may seem silly but, do you have to PLAY 10 games or WIN 10 games to get a placement?

I'm pretty sure I've played more than 10 games and have yet to be ranked.

But if I do have to win 10 to get ranked then it's very stupid as you get a 24hr cooldown when you win 2 games.

 

This is worded horribly but hopefully you get my question.

Not always true. I just started a smurf account a month or so ago and got ranked at LEM after the first 10. I got to SMFC with less than 30 hours haha.

I got rank SEM after the first 10 wins. PITA waiting the 24hrs though

I just played a bunch of casual between to better prepare me for the Smurf league (novas lol)

There's more to games than just getting ranked. If your just playing a game to be ranked then you playing it for the wrong reason.

I find ranked fun.

I don't take it as serious as other but I find casual boring - building up to something is more fun, not to mention 5v5 is waaay better than any casual mode.

After 10 you get ranked at where your ELO puts you, not everyone starts in silver.

OK, you made it sound like if you weren't ranking its not worth even bothering to play. What i mean is (for me) a lengthy(ish) exchange in a fight is more exciting than a quick kill as long as it doesnt feel like your shooting BBs and it feels like people care more about kdr and leaderboards than enjoying the game.

Reading back my post it sounds like I'm attacking you, that wasn't my point so apologies if any offence was taken. Also the games probably better off if people leave because the ranking system takes to long
