Can someone pls. write stock fan speed on 770 Lightning, % and rpm. in full load. Thanks.

I have like 65% max fan speed on Metro Last Light with SSAA4x with 78C max temp. Crysis 3 max temp is 76C.

Max boost is 1263mhz on core. Can someone confirm its ok or not? Thanks and cheers.

I ask because on Twin Frozr Gaming 770 with 45-50% fan i was had sometimes 79-81 C on Metro Last Light with boost 1110-1136mhz.

And now on Lightning 770 i have 77-78C on that game but with higher fan speed-> 65% and boost 1267mhz on core. Its not too high for Lightning card compared to Gaming Edition 770?

I think those are normal temps/fan speeds, considering you boost 100mhz more.

Could you maybe tell me your other ingame settings in metro and the fps you get? :) cause i want to buy a 770 for myself soon.

I am using V.HIGH details and playing with SSAA2x. But for test temps i was used 4xSSAA and then i get max temp like 77-78C in some places, with 65% fan speed.

Fps are near 30 with SSAA4x.

But i want to know and to be sure, that my temps are ok or not, compared to 770 Twin Frozr Gaming. ^

Can somebody tell me?

Your temps are good. i reach nearly 90°C with my 590 and everything under 80°C is perfect. what are your idle temps?

28 idle

But i want to ask 770 Lighting owner to compare.

Somebody tell me that is too high for Lightning.

Can somebody explain me ?

On 770 Gaming i was had 79-80C with 46-48% fan auto
On 770 Lightning now i have 77-78C with 65-70% fan auto

Its not normal?

Why Lightning is worst than Gaming then?

Here we have discussed a lot about overclocking and temperature of the GTX 770 Lightning Edition and also some other random interesting stuff.  :)

Mine runs at 1306MHz on the core and 8GHz on the memory and I hit only 72C under extreme load and 35C on idle. Bear in mind that I pump an insane amount of voltage into the card, because I have a bad overclocker. With a custom fan profile the fan hits 70% at around 75-76C so... It seems like you have an even worse card than mine. I'm sorry mate.

Can i RMA then my card?

Can you tell me what is your max temps on stock settings on that Lightning 770 ? ( i mean without any OC adjusting clocks or voltages ) Thx

Max temps with no overclock at all I think were around 68C. I'm not quite sure if can RMA the card because of this though... Technically there is nothing wrong with it... However you should still give it a try.

Without touching voltages 68C? In what games? How much temps in Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light?

I tested my card with Metro Last Light and a 40min loop of Unigine Vally. After both I got a 68C max temp at stock speeds and stock fan profile (measured with EVGA Precision). After that I started overclocking and now I have + 56mV on the core, which believe me is ridiculous (used Afterburner 3.0.0 beta 10). Now max temps with the same testing methodology are 72C but with a custom fan profile. If I leave the fan at stock the card will be running at around 78-79C an I'm just not that comfortable with it.

In the other topic I have also shared highly overclocked results with +100mV which gave me a +100MHz max stable on the core . I was hitting 81C with the same custom fan profile. I abandoned that rout, because I was hitting a 130% TDP and in my opinion there was a danger to manifold.

PS: Which drivers are you using? If you have not updated yet, please do it. I have reached all these results on the 320.49 driver from nVidia.

You say:"I tested my card with Metro Last Light and a 40min loop of Unigine Vally. After both I got a 68C max temp at stock speeds and stock fan profile (measured with EVGA Precision)."      What % is your fan on stock?

So why on stock speeds and stock fan i got in Metro LL sometimes 78C and on Valley 75C?

Maybe your airflow isnt as good as his.

Update that driver asap!

At stock speed all GTX 770 Lightning fans should have pretty much the same speed. However I see that you have not updated the drivers yet. Please do that! Update to the latest ones and I think that your issue will be fixed. The 320.08 and 320.18 drivers have so much problems and sometimes cause the fans to malfunction. Even some older GTX 500 Series cards have died because of that.

And yes, do check your case airflow!

Have you installed a fan on the side panel? Do you use dust filters on your intakes? Whats your ambient temperature? Mine was about 26C when was doing these benchmarks. The driver issues on the 320.08. And there is always the possibility that you have a worse card in terms of overclocking capability than mine. There are so many variables.

PS: There are other guys here, who can reach that same overclock, which I have with much less voltage and at lower temps.

I'm not really sure but I think it was 1190MHz effective boost clock speed.

Analog on default stock settings you have 68C in most of the games? Without touching clocks and voltages?

Oo

Bro its too low or maybe you mistakek. A support from MSI i saying to me that i have ok temperatures with that boost 1267mhz. I have 75C in Valley, 75-77 Crysis 3.

May be it's low, but it's obviously possible since my card runs pretty cool indeed. And yes, MSI will tell that it's alright to have that temp with those clock speeds, because there is technically nothing wrong with your card. What that means though is that you will not have the same overclocking capability. If you type in my overclock your temps are going to pass 90C.

I'm on vacation right now and I don't have my rig with me. I'll be back in two weeks and I'll check the things you asked me, though I don't believe the results will be any different than those which I already gave you.

Try overclocking the card and see what kind of temps will you have with a overclock near 1300MHz on the core with no oc on the memory. Leave the memory at stock and report here. I'll try to find some screenshots of mine to compare temps. :)
