So I have a budget of 1500$ with a monitor

This pc is mostly for gaming with very small amounts of 3d modelling such as solidworks and catia

The budget is 1500$ canadian as I love in Canada

I don't mind trying to build the pc

I also have no idea on which mother board ram and so on my only requirements is I would like a gtx 970 and maybe a i7 4000 of possible I don't mind of its something like a i5 4690k

I had this one lying around :P It fits your needs pretty well. And there is enough money left for a nice monitor. But I won't recommend you any monitor, as you haven't told us which kind of monitor you want.

i wouldnt personally, i would just have a hdd and ssd on their own. 1tb is enough these days, then you can get another one along the line for relatively cheap price. had my hdd for 2 years and its not even halfway full yet :P
