Free Video Editing Software?

Hello all! I've been looking for video editing software for a little bit now and I just don't have the $300 to drop onto something like Sony Vegas. I was wondering if any of you know about some free alternatives?

Movie Maker works if you're keeping it simple.

its also fast

 

if you want something more complex lightworks is free too but will take a while to learn
