Yes, blower is perferd for SLI. I have open air cooler on my gpus and the top one runs 10*C hotter than the lower (1 pci bracket spacing)

Do you know anything about the asus turbo gtx 970? Thats what im thinking of running

The twin side intake is useless for SLI, the upper fan on the lower card steals air from the lower fan un the upper card, i would get the reference just because of the looks :P

Whats your guys take on blower gpus, I'm doing a build and down the line I'm going to do sli I heard blowers are good for that setup? Thoughts?

Blower styled coolers are best for SLI, especially when stacked on top of one another such as in a matx case. When there is a gap, you can get away with having aftermarket cooling, but I've read of some people still having trouble with temps. It all depends on your case flow.

If its the 970, I believe it isn't a true nvidia reference cooler. From what I've read, the 970 reference cooler isn't a vapor chamber like a normal nvidia reference cooler. Now given that, I'm not sure if that made too much of a difference in cooling.
