Gpu drivers occasionally crash

so when the system is under very low or no use, the gpu driver randomly crashes but comes back on soon after. Any solutions? i have a gigabyte gtx 970 windforce 3x cooler on driver version 352.86

I have been crashing like crazy on this driver. I havent had time to pin point if its shadow play thats causing or the driver.

hehe... 352.86 would make my monitor plugged into dvi turn a red or yellow tint and get shit tons of static then crash drivers and loop crashing... Go back to 350.12.

I guess I won't be upgrading drivers until the next one after this then.

Yep, I generally wait a few weeks on reports with drivers from Nvidia as they tend to release some pretty unstable broken ones... AMD doesn't release drivers often, but they generally aren't broken when released. Betas are though..

the overclock i have is stable.

+30 core voltage

107% power limit

86C Temp limit

+163 core clock

+123 mem clock 

base is around 1290 and boost is at 1466mhz

yea i was really disappointed by driver quality when i switched from amd to nVidia (despite seeing nV fanboys always stating AMD releases broken drivers).

Don't get me wrong, the 970 is a hellhound of a card, never seen a puppy OC this well, but on my old 7870 I NEVER had driver issues, not once, and I was always on beta drivers too.

This stupid 350.86 driver is killing me, crashes every so often (every 20-40 mins) makes everything unplayable.

Having similar issues with that driver on my 980, After I had two lock/crashes I did some searching on the Nvidia forums, seems quite a common issue. If it's causing too much of a bother rollback, Mine only does it once in maybe 12 hours so I'm just going to stick with it for now.
