I have a CM 212 evo on my i5-4670k and when I overclock it to 4.6 ghz, which the cpu is stable at, it will idle around 50  and will jump from 60-70 bepending on the game but under stress test, I used prime 95, for about 45 minutes it was hitting low 80's. So my concern is that it is too hot. It is rather hot right now where I live and the air around my desk is about 33. I have 2 fans on the heatsink and arctic silver 5 thermal paste. I put the cpu back to stock and it is idling around 42.

should I look into a better cooling solution or is this okay.

is 50's an okay idle?

It could be worse, but it should be fine I guess.

Those temps are pretty good for 212. wouldn't break your chip.

Nice OC!

I'd personally lower it to 4.5ghz for better temps but you're fine.

like I said the room temps are around 30-32

are we talking C or F?

I'd say the idle is a little high but it's the under load that counts

I used to have a Arctic Freezer Pro 2 and that would idle at around 40 degrees C with antec nano something or other thermal p. . . ambients of around 15 - 20 degrees. If that helps?
