Quietest cpu cooler?

Go to solution Solved by Jeremykin,

Well damn.. I just returned it.. BUT I GOT AN NH-D15 AND I HAVE NO REGRETS. AMAZING PERFORMANCE AND AMAZING COOLING. Its so quiet! Anyways thanks for the help I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time. Cheers!

Okay I'm just looking for the quietest cpu cooler. I do care about looks, which is why I'm skeptical of noctua.

I was thinking of the zalman cnps12... Thoughts?

BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3? Or Nepton 240M

If you can afford it, custom watercooling is worth it for silence

What are you cooling?

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

The cnps12x isn't that quiet.

ok sorry amd fx-8370 @ tdp of 125 watts. No budget, in Canada so more expensive. Water cooling I am skeptical too because the amd mounting system leaves lots if room for uneven spread of thermal compound. I've struggled with getting good temperatures from kraken x41 and h80i gt from corsair. Its because the mounting isnt distributed evenly. Google the mounting bracket to understand what im talking about :0

I really want to build an oil-immersed PC  ^_^

Zalman coolers are pretty, but not quiet. I should know, I've had several of the damn things. I'd go for a Be Quiet! cooler, since their entire mission statement is to reduce noise levels of computer coolers...

Main Rig "Melanie" (click!) -- AMD Ryzen7 1800X • Gigabyte Aorus X370-Gaming 5 • 3x G.SKILL TridentZ 3200 8GB • Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming • Corsair RM750x • Phanteks Enthoo Pro --

HTPC "Keira" -- AMD Sempron 2650 • MSI AM1I • 2x Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 8GB • ASUS ENGTX 560Ti • Corsair SF450 • Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV Shift --

Laptop "Abbey" -- AMD E-350 • HP 646982-001 • 1x Samsung DDR3 1333 4GB • AMD Radeon HD 6310 • HP MU06 Notebook Battery • HP 635 case --

Have you tried the fix using washers?
