How long have you had this HDD? It could be a possible sign that it's on its arse

My western digital WD1003FZEX is really loud. If my fans are all off, I can hear the HDD easily. It is as loud as a fan going near full rpm, any ideas?

Black drives are the loudest out of the 3 consumer grades (green/blue/black) so if all your fans are off this isn't exactly a surprise. Especially if it's not mounted on something vibration dampening.

Hey SauronsV,

I would download WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool and run it over the WD Black to check if it's performing properly. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=8xJ6Fs
Also make sure the drive is mounted firmly to the case and it's not causing vibrations to any of the case's parts, creating resonance and amplifying the noise.
Post back with the results from the test.
