I have an old (2008) desktop that has an issue. It's done this before too. I was browsing the web and it just froze, everything froze. I did a force shut down. Now when I turn it on it does one of 2 things. 1. I turn it on and the fans spin up and it sounds like it's running but no video display and no power button light is shown. 2. I turn it on and it does 1 long beep and nothing after that. (no video or anything either).

It also sometimes does a BSOD on a cold startup (it hasn't been run for a few hours). Does this sound like a memory issue or PSU issue?

It's a very strange computer. For instance, After I typed this, I turned it on again and it booted.

EDIT: BSOD this time while using it. "system thread exception not handled"

Run MemTest

I've run the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool before.

Reseated the memory and so far so good. I don't have my hopes up too much though.
