EVGA 980 Hydro Copper....odd question...

So I have basically decided on saving up for an EVGA 980 Hydro Copper and to that end I have an odd question....

I have seen pictures of it glowing in all its white LED glory....I tried to ask EVGA about the LED and all I got was a manual that had one line about plugging in the LED.

So my question is has anyone attempted to replace the led?

So is the problem that you don't want it to be white? If so, you could use something like cellophane (but make it nice) to change the colour.

I'm not sure about taking it out, but its probably possible with a bit of kergigering.

The first step to insanity is believing in your sanity.

Depending on the kind they use it can be very easy to replace. Since it is a custom EKWB that's branded EVGA I'm assuming they are still going to use the 3mm LEDS, if that's the case all that's needed is to desolder the old LED and solder on the new ones and possibly a new resistor since red has a lower forward voltage than the white LED's.

1. I was hoping soldering wasn't involved.

2. Who said anything about red, I want green :P

Good point  :P

It would be best to solder the connections since you won't have a bulky connector, for green LED's you should be fine without having to connect a new resistor.
