Titan X Temps

Go to solution Solved by Mick Naughty,

Once you make any changes, make sure you exit out of the graph tab and click ok in precision x. That card should never reach 70 unless youre a quite freak and wont let the fan do its job. I would run a benchmark next to precision x and watch ever thing to make sure it functioning, if not adjust the fan manually while its running. Might just be a software bug.

Hi guys I have been getting really high temperatures on my Titan X and I suspecting this is why my system crashed yesterday on GTA I did furmark and I noticed it went over the recommended 83 hitting 84 at which point I stopped the software. I have installed EVGA Precision and set a custom fan curve to aggressive but I have noticed that the fan speed doesn't want to speed up when I minimize the software can someone help me with this.

Thanks,

David

The titan x can emit a lot of heat, and the stock cooler is by no means amazing at cooling, so those temperatures are to be expected. My old 760s with aftermarket coolers sometimes went over 80C, but they did not crash.

Once they reach a certain threshold they will start to down clock, to reduce the heat output, so if the problem was heat related, you should have noticed lower framerates rather than a crash.

Regarding precision, try using something else like msi afterburner, to see if it is software related...

GTA does crash occasionally, probably not related to your GPU temp. If your still worried about GPU temps (the Titan X does have a reputation for running hot) you could try to get more airflow to the card, try to ensure it is only sucking fresh room temp air.
