does ram kill?

i have a AMD FX8320 and a M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard. im wanting to buy some corsair vengeance pro DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) but will it kill my cpu?

It can if you sharpen it. 

 

No, it will not kill your CPU. PC components are made to work together, they're not just going to blow up if they're incompatible (these are compatible, BTW)

Ram doesn't kill CPU's, CPU's kill CPU's.

No, but the ram speed will be downclocked to 1866MHZ anyway so what's the point of buying 2400MHZ ram.

Dodge Ram? Certainly! The animal? Probably. Random Access Memory? If you try hard enough, sure.

Yeah don't do it man, that will absolutely destroy your CPU and possibly your motherboard, the voltage is simply too high. Go for something with 0.5v or less.

pretty much all ram above 1600 is overclocked.

 

Did some quick research and it looks like your MB can only support up to 2133mhz in OC mode.

 

I'd recommend just sticking to 1866 because AMD MBs don't have a decent history for good memory controllers.
