Title says it all. I was playing Battlefield 4 when suddenly this happens, it shows nothing, no BSOD or error messages it just reset.

I've endured a BIOS Flash Gone Wrong, Reformat, and a few punches to my table to clean this problem. Every driver is up to date and perfect state, AIDA64 SST showed nothing, Prime95, Memtest, None. I put all my Clock Speed to default (CPU, and GPU) and no Overheat was showing.

I've searched the internet wide and far and the most answer is PSU related, however my PSU can handle much more in my rig (In Signature 'War Horse'). I dont want to replace my PSU as its not even 1 year old, warranty might not cover it, Or is it the Power Strip(or Surge Protector but its not really a surge protector), I had a big Power strip but someone needed it so i switched to a smaller Power Strip, and now much smaller only to power my monitor and rig.

Could it be the long-term effect of leaving my computer on to download something? The PSU is worn out?

Help me out i cant play CSGO, DOTA 2, BF3, nor BF4 more than 10 minutes without rebooting. And i hate the bf4 cutscenes.

you should be able to RMA the PSU if it under 1 year of warranty

VS is just 1 tier above the Diablotek PSUs

CX should be the bare minimum series of PSU to go for

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Even if the psu is not very good, that system should not be pulling much over 400W of power...

Try running prime95, and a gpu intensive program at the same time/ 3dmark firestrike, and see if it crashes at the combined test (if so all the arrow seem to point towards your PSU)

See the problem is, Im on a small budget back then, things are very expensive here you know. It has like 3 Years of Warranty on the box or smth

your psu isn't very good

Limited budget back then

Can i run Prime95 and at the same time play BF4 with settings maxed out? Ill guarantee it'll crash under 5 minutes. But i have 3DMark, so ill try that.

Thanks for the reply, Ill contact my vendor tomorrow, see whats required to warranty it, if im missing any parts, im fucked. But could it be the Power Strip?

Sorry for replying too long. Was having fun in my newly purchased BF4

If you think it is the power strip, then why dont you just check if it works while the PC is just plugged into the wall? Should not take very long.

Personally im not too sure it is the power strip, as if it blew a fuse or something, it would turn off instantly, and not turn on again.

Totally the PSU now. Prime95 with Sky Diver 3DMark shut it down the first 10 minutes.

Seriously Corsair?! I thought you were the good guy

Prices are way more expensive in here

Seasonic - M12II Evo 520 = 90 USD

Corsair VS550 = 54.99 USD

Guess i cant play anything until one more year of saving lunch money. A week i get around 10 Dollars if i dont eat anything in school, bringing my own lunches? Hate it, it gets cold and hard and lose its taste, but for the sake of PC? YES

Cx series is fine considering my has had no problems for 2 years now. Besides buying an ax series isnt really ideal either considering how damn expensive they are...

Anything other than FSP, Lepa, or Powerlogic should be fine (not saying they are bad, but I've never heard of them before...)

Im thinking of buying cheap PSU for a while, you know just to be able to complete BF4, then i can save up for a better trustee power supply

Theres a few that costs no more than 20 USD, 500W that is... for the 450W theres the 10USD ones

I guess theres no fault in temporary made in china cheap products is it? Will it damage my system?

Personally I would not touch a PSU that cheap with a 10 foot pole...

There should be fail safes if the PSU fails, where it" peacefully" dies and does not kill anything else, but you never know with stuff that cheap.

Yeah, if your corsair PSU made your pc shut down, then there is no chance that a 10usd PSU is going to be any better.

I've used quite a few Corsair PSU's, and only the VS Series is really that bad. CX is alright, CS is better, and HXi, AXi and RM are the best. VS PSU's are garbage.
