Hey Guys!

I'm planing to build a new PC for gaming on 1080p and need your opinion, because i'm not very sure about it and i haven't build a PC for years. Please consider that i don't want to spend much since i am not going to play demanding games all the time.

So here is what i thought would be a good configuration:

CPU: Intel Core i5 - 4590

GPU: Palit GTX960 4GB

Mobo: Asus H97-Plus

RAM: Crucial Ballistix 8GB

PSU: Corsair CX600M

and should i get a Cooler Master 212 Evo or will the stock cooler do the job?

Sounds great so far.

I'm not sure if you really want to spend that extra money on a 4GB GTX 960 for practically the same performance as a 2GB 960. I would probably go for a 970 instead. Edit: Also the R9 280X is a good option if you want more VRAM.

The stock cooler will definitly get the job done. If not they wouldn't sell it, right? ;)

I would recommend you try it out first and if it's too loud or the performance is too bad you can still easily replace it with something like the 212 Evo.

C0LL0SS0S is the r9 280x with 3GB much better than a GTX960 with 4GB ?(since the prices are nearly the same)

@

LucemArrow nothing special like video editing or so

I cannot help you if you don't know how much your spending, and I also can't help if I don't know your currency

Yes. The 280X still beats the 4gb 960 in most cases. The memory bandwidth on the 960 is so small, its pointless for anything more than 2gb. (Most tech reviewers were confused as to the board partners making 4gb variants)

But if you truly are a stickler for heat output or efficiency over performance, then go for it.

Seems good. Could get away with a less powerful PSU, and a 280x would be a bit better for the money. If you're solidly team green though, disregard the 280x :P

Stick with stock cooler.

Budget and country? Also, need peripherals? I'm assuming you already have a HDD/SSD from an old build.

I don't do signatures.

hmm since so many here are suggesting the 280x i might pick it instead of the 960. and yes i've got and 750GB Western Digital SSD and i'll get and 1TB HDD but i'm not adding the HDD to the costs

Edit: i got all the peripherals :)

At 800 euro you can easily get a 970 which will kill the 280x or the 960

the 970 costs ~380€ if I don't change the other parts it'll cost me 860 to 870 euros in total and if I decide to pick a HDD to go with my SSD i'll reach 900+.

Edit: What if I pick a Saphhire R9 290 Tri-X 4GB ? It would max out the budget I was willing to spend and I think it'll be a solid system.
