Hello, Im a 15 year old guy and I have been wanting to build a PC for a while now. I currently have a Mid 2011 iMac and I use it for gaming (bootcamp with Win 7), school, and everything else. A few friends and I have came up with this build.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DrMacintosh/saved/6W4hP6

I really want to be able to play more games and play them at higher settings. This new build should allow me to do that. I was wondering what input anyone might have on it. So please, make suggestions, additions, or revisions. Please keep in mind that my budget is  $1,250 and bellow.

Just incase anyone was wondering here are my current specs:

Intel QuadCore i5 @2.5Ghz

AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512MB

12GB DDR3 RAM

500GB HDD

I know, I know its time to play with the big boys ;)

motherboard is overkill, especially for ITX

other than that it looks great.

not going into 290x vs gtx 970 debate.

I was going to suggest waiting, but I don't really think the price will drop very much right away, but it is still a good idea to see the pricing.

Any particular reason you're going with itx?

If you're going to wait, you might as well plan a bit later.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I have very limited desk space. Plus, I want the possibility of portability and just the niceness of having a smaller computer that doesn't catch your eye. I am an Apple fanboy, I don't really like big towers or shiny lights. (I do however really like the look of MSI products, thats why i chose that motherboard and the 970 graphics card)

This is one of the lowest prices on a very good 290X in a very very long time.

I kind of thought that so I made a Micro ATX build that is a bit bigger but has better features.

I've came up with this as a possible alt build:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DrMacintosh/saved/MmrXsY

Basically I went for a cheaper HDD, and put a 290 instead of a 970. I don't know about that Gigabyte board, if I get it though it will bring to total to around $1,000 flat. I don't really care about SSDs and I could use the extra cash for a nice headset/mic.

I would really consider this build, once you experience the SSD you will never go back to not having it.

Spending the extra $50 on a board you will not really even be able to see in that case anyways is just a straight up waste of money.

The Gigabyte board is a fine board and also includes built-in WiFi.

Also that PSU I would go with the XFX most definitely.

Ultimately the choice is yours but I would really consider changing some of those parts around.
