Hello.

I am looking into building a new pc this summer!

My pc needs to have a black and blue color scheme!

And I have $1400 for my pc AND peripherals (I alreasy have a mouse: Logitech Performance MX)

So I still need: speakers (I am no sound editor so as long as I can get them right with equalizer APO, and as long as it has base, it's fine!), a keyboard (I would like mechanical, but backlighting isn't a priority), a microphone (it is just for skype, so NO EXPENSIVE THINGS, a cheap clip-on mic is already enough),

And if you think other accessoires are really needed, you can add them!

My workload will be:

Everyday use, modest 1080p gaming (popular games<dota 2, league of legends, minecraft, team fortress,...>), programming, little bit of photo and video editing (adobe programs)

Oh and the one that can help me out, can help me pick the name!

Greetings Reds Duty

Currently rocking a crappy 550$ toshiba laptop without a dedicated graphics card.

So... I'm looking forward to building my very first pc!

Do you need a monitor included in your price?

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

Yes, but at a local store I can buy 24" 1080p 60Hz 5ms monitors! For 100$!

I would buy 2 of them, so that's 1200$ resting.

Is a copy of Windows needed?

What kind of dollars are you using?

A copy of windows isn't needed...

You can give me a build in USD

(I'm actually using euro, but since the prices and tax at my local store is higher, I use USD, and until now, that scales pretty well.)

-snip-

Thank you, but I would spend +- 900$ on my pc and get an AMD FX 6300 as CPU, I really don't need an enthousiast grade build...

I'm upgrading from a laptop with a dual core intel core i5 3210M @2.5Ghz, so even an AMD Athlon X4 860k would be an upgrade...

Also thanks for the mic and other peripherals recommendations!

But I will take the keyboard in mx blue switches no matter what...

Since backlighting isn't nescessary, I was looking at this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-BlackWidow-Ultimate-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B00IG3GPTS

I think it's pretty well priced for a mechanical keyboard, and the cherry mx keycaps fit right on!

Also for the speakers I would like something with a subwoofer...

But I will surely get the microphone!

Any ideas for a name?

With the key board you are saying you want to get it doesn't use cherry switches in it razer developed there own type of switches.

Also the K70 is available in cherry blue. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CH-9000076-UK-Performance-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B00NHJPUFG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431878082&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+k70+blue&tag=linustechtips-21

As for a name I would say the "Ocean Storm" Due to the fact it's blue and black.

First off, I really like the name!

Second, I know that they aren't genuine cherry switches, but I've tested the ultimate edition of that keyboard, who uses the same switches,

and I found it very pleasing to type on...

But it all will depend on availability and pricing in my local store...

Thanks for your help

Prices for individual parts will vary though and that is the basis for many component recommendations.

Can you link us to the store's available items?

@WoodenMarker

You can just make me a build with amazon us... I actually have a bit more then 1400 for if it would be more expensive at my local store...

It's not a problem that the prices will be a little different..

You also mentioned problems with availability. Is there no site for you to link us to?

@WoodenMarker

Where did I mention availability problems, and how would a site help you if I just ask a build of about 900 USD on amazon?
