Hello everyone, as the title says I need a little bit of help.

I recently got myself a 4790k as well as a second 780ti. My problem now is everything runs very hot. So, I got myself an AIO cooler for the cpu without thinking much. cpu heat problems are solved, but now im not really happy with how hot the 780tis runs. So im looking to do what I should have done in the first place I guess!

My case is the Define R5 and my question is fairly simple : Can I fit a 420 radiator at the top as well as a 280 at the front? My AIO is a 280 and to fit it, I had to install it at the top, remove the optical drive bay and remove the exhaust fan at the back.

Which brings me to another subject, noise levels. My AIO is the Corsair H110 GTX and it works very well, but wow can it get loud. But I guess that could also probably be my gpus as the fans can get up to 3100 rpm.

My monitor is a 27" 1440p and my graphics cards are 2 EGVA 780ti.

Any and all help very much appreciated!

Not really worth it, temps aren't much lower and it's a pain installing it on the cards and then finding a place to put all the radiators.

if you want to do custom loop and want it to be quiet/silent you have 2 options alot of rad space with slow fans . like jayztwocent has with skunkworks . or what im currently doing which is just getting a external rad mine is 9 x120 rad  and  sticking it somewhere you wont hear it if you stick noise fans on it  im just getting more vardars so it doesnt hit 2200 rpm. and im bias against aio's since my h100i died 30 days in

you probably want to run a 360 up top and either a 240/280/360 up front for cpu + dual 780ti's

Consider the define S is more suited to what you want and looks identical to your current case.

or like sam said another case which is more water cooling friendly i personal like the thermaltake core x9 bad ass little case with tons of rads you can jam into it

I don't know how much I would trust those benchmarks, what kind of circumstances were they taken? What was the ambient temp, load, and which stock cooler?

If I already have the R5, is the S that much better for water cooling?

Well you get rad support for a 360mn in the front but the real advantage is the area to put your res and pump in the front while still having room for your hard drives in the back it will look really clean and professional while being really easy to do with all that space for your cooling components.

Do you think I can get this to run quiet then?

Huh, interesting. But I still think a custom loop is more worth it, I'm currently running 3 AIOs in my system and I wish I would have invested the time and money into a custom loop. Yeah it's going to be more expensive but between the easier expandability and re-usability of parts I think it's more worth it in the long run.

max is 420 top 280 front

So you say I could fit a 420 at the top and a 360 at the front?

Are you sure you cant fit a 360 at the front, well perhaps not with a 420 at the top. I'm just looking at the radiator picture of the Define S

that was for the Define R5 for the define s it can fit a 420top 360 front

As far as cooling goes, you'll be able to mount up to a 360 mm (3 x 120 mm) radiator up front and up to a 420 mm radiator up top. The rear exhaust is taken care of by a 140 mm fan, and you can opt to mount an additional 140 mm fan at the bottom intake in front of the PSU. from tomshardware

Watch the review Linus it will solve your questions.

Linus actually has a video on it as well:

I agree that a custom loop's better, but some that aren't comfortable with a custom loop might prefer this alternative.

I know some radiators are longer than others, does anyone have a suggestion about which 420 and 360 I should get?

well you need a 420 that is only 30mm thick because of bought issues.
