The Title explains it..

I will be DIYing my new PC on my own, just with the knowledge by Linus, Luke, and reading all the forums an watching the builds videos by LTT and Austin Evans.

U guys have any last minute advice on precautions, or solutions to Frequently faced problems when doing this the first time?

One thing i am curious about is the BIOS.

what is the bare minimum that i absolutely have to do to get it working in optimal settings? I know setting the RAm to XMP is one of them.

Its an MSI z97s Krait Edition, btw.

Also, I dont plan to overclock my CPU(4690k) for atleast a few months, so is it okay for me to use the stock intel fan for that time period, coz a hyper 212 evo is not available in my country right now.

Lat thing, what is an alternative to the anti-static wrist strap, coz I couldnt find one of those either. if i assemble it on a wooden table, is that okay? or will even that produce static? Any  workaround for it, plz tell me

Linus's voice was annoyingly hellish for atleast the first 50 videos that i watched

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.

Have all things connected. Thats about it. Rest is just tweaking. Most common things are getting boot order correct and setting SATA to ACHI. Thing like XMP are minor and have so little effect on performance that you don't need to worry about them during first boot or long before you have OS ready and everything installed.

that was another thing i was wondering about.what is the significance of AHCI? are there significant speed increases?  and also, i have read that you have to fully configure it without making any mistakes, or it will not perform optimally. Any pointers there?

My understanding of it is, that its just "driver" inside UEFI to tell how drives should be used. Other option for it would be IDE where port order is also important and some SSDs and HDDs aren't recognized or fully working. But I could be also wrong about that. Its just setting between the two so you don't need to know anything more about it.
