When my friend starts GTA V the social club launcher comes up and closes after he has been logged in.

Then the process of GTA V comes up in Task manager but the game never actually appears on screen.

Before that happens the "GTA5.exe has stopped working-dialog" pops up. he just updated top the calayst 15.4 Beta but that didn't help.

(he also can't play Guildwars 2 which is a different story)

Laptop: HP pavilion dv7 (he can't tell me anything more exact sry)

Graficscard seems to be a 7690M but it has turned into a 6700M after the driver update.

Graficscard seems to be a 7690M but it has turned into a 6700M after the driver update.

Seems legit. I'd recommend uninstalling the drivers completely with DDU (also press set windows drivers to default before pressing clean and restart) and installing the beta again. If it still doesn't recognize the card correctly you should install an older driver until a new one comes out again.

Telling exact model would help a lot, you sure he has enough ram for the game?

8GB-->enough
