Hello, I recently bought a GTX 970 and it worked perfectly fine in the first two days but the third day my computer wouldn't turn on (nothing happens when I press the on/off button)  and I played with some cables and it did but the next day it didn't turn on again and I wasn't able to fix it. The computer works when I take the GPU off and put in another GPU. This really looks like my power supply isn't enough but though it should be more than enough with my system and it did turn on the first two days? Is it possible that the problem is on my 10 year old motherboard is my question.

Other specs? Did you use any cable splitters? With which GPU's does it work?

Core 2 Quad Q8300 with DDR2 ram, it works with a GT610 (also works when there's no GPU on it). No, I didn't use any cable splitters. I have a 600W power supply which is pretty newly purchased. (The GTX 970 is Gigabyte G1). I actually kind of can use another motherboard which is better (it supports DDR3 memory and is only about 2-3 years old). Do you think changing my motherboard will fix the issue?

Maybe, it's worth the try. Note that your RAM and CPU are a big bottleneck for a GTX 970.
