Differences between MicroATX and ATX MOBO

Are there any significant differences between a microATX and regular ATX board other than the size and number of PCI-E ports?

I'm building a computer for casual gaming and personal work(nothing too intense). I'm trying to build around i5-4690 and a R9 285.

I'm open to all suggestions.

More room for better components like onboard audio and VRM.

Different size

Usually worse VRAM on smaller boards

Less PCI-E

Less Ram Slots

Smaller boards tend to not have as many bells and whistles like high end on board audio, Wi-Fi, SLI Support, physical power and reset switches, stuff like that. The core components should have the same stock functions regardless of board size.
