Computer taking forever to boot up?

@AlwaysFSX i tried booting to a linux live cd, and the computer's reaction? straight up nothing. it just sits there pretending i didn't give it any commands. i think my computer has hardware issues at this point.

Reset your CMOS? Remove RAM?

My computer has been acting up lately. It's been having the shittiest wifi connection in the house, and now, a new issue threw up. It takes forever to boot. the spinny circle thing in windows just spins. And spins. And spins. And keeps on spinning. It feels like it takes 25 minutes, but it never really gets to the operating system. Sometimes it actually just freezes and nothing happens. Before, i was able to load up Tech Preview, but now it's not even possible. It just keeps spinning. If you need more info, ask me.

Defrag your hard drive?

I can't even get there right now. And besides, i already set it for auto defrag.

Are you able to boot in to something like Linux?

Yeah, but it had a blue screen just now, so windows is doing a boot diagnosis, so i don't wanna interrupt. how great. holy fuck, this son of a bitch better be fixed or else i will chuck it out the damn window. i've just about had it.

You should try diagnosing my PS3. ;)

 

Update me on how it goes? I have a few ideas but I don't know how much they'll help.

Right now, it also seems like it's taking forever to diagnose it as well. Fucking son of a bitch.

Hell no. I'd rather stick with traditional hard drives over SSDs any day.

What computer of yours has the issue?

First one in sig.

 

What have you tried? Haven't you replaced some hardware at one point or another?

I tried making sure all cables were plugged in fully, including my dvd drive, and trying to boot to linux live cd. seriously, it doesn't take much, and it still treats me like ass.

Doubt they're related to my computer not starting up, but i tried. let's see how it goes.

No, i just took 2 identical sticks and swapped slots. That worked.

Wow..

He just essentially reseated them. He could have taken each out and put it back in the slot where it was and the problem would most likely have been solved.
