HDD mod?

One Question is it save to paint the top (the printed side)?

or are there any issues except for rma issues

I did it with my HDD. The result was pretty underwhelming. I'd highly recommend to use some kind of vinyl instead of paint. Or at least plasti dip.

 

Important: cover those little holes for the paint job, you don't want paint to get in there.

Yeah you can do that no problem as KamiKatze said be careful yo not let the paint to get into the air holes.

Alternatively you can get a HDD silencer or box to hide it if you only have one drive and it's easily seen, I personally use one and it works well.
