Well...having no idea what resolution you intend to game on or what resolution, it's difficult to give advice on this system.  In general, I would say it would be sufficient for gaming at 1080p on low to medium settings for most games, perhaps high settings on older titles.  More specific feedback will require additional input from you.  Best of luck with the build!

Pardon me but why do I keep seeing people recommending 2x4GB modules for budget gaming builds?

 

I know it used to matter more during DDR/2 days, but many sources already shows you get little to no gaming performance increase with dual channel RAM unless you're using iGPU like AMD's. I think even Linus made a video of this right?

 

I would just pick 1x8GB to save a few bucks while giving myself a choice to double the ram to 16gb in case something that need tons of RAM appear in the future and I want it.
